The 3000 and 2000 will probably both still be available at retail alongside the $250 model, so early adopters/first time PSP buyers will take care of at least the first few shipments of the Go! for Sony. Especially when it launches with GT Portable. then they'll slowly drop the price and start phasing out the UMD models over the next two or so years.
If you want the cheaper bulkier one with UMD you can still pick it up.
