Its the way of the world. Personally... screw them! I would rather download every single movie I can -> legally when available. But likely they are wanting to milk you for that extended version if they can too.

??? You say screw it to the companies, and you say you'll rather download every movie... but legally? How's that sticking it to them? Especially when you understand that they can still milk you for the download version too...

As in don't buy the retail copy until they give the directors cut. I.E with-hold from purchasing. I was just saying that I don't bother with obsolete optical media usually. I haven't bought a DVD in years!

So, when you were mentioning downloading and witholding purchase... do you mean illegally download it and buy it later, or not buy it at all?

I'm sorry, I'm only asking this because it was either you or another person (Starcraft?) that made that big fuss about illegal downloads and pirating and what not, I can't remember who it was.

I haven't really been interested in actually buying movies until now (actually, I never really cared about buying stuff until I turned 17-18 XD, sucks, I could have had my parents buy everything if I was more interested younger), and I only buy movies that I really, really want. So unless it's in the bargain bin for 9.99, I'll only buy movies I consider classics or really damn good on Bluray.

I just download stuff like anime and movies I don't really care about, and usually end up deleting them for space anyway.
