I'm glad to see Sony (Along with Nintendo and Microsoft) bundling products with their systems. Some type of game should be included with every system. Not too long ago it was standard to include a game. But Sony had so much success with the orignial Playstation being sold with a demo disc ( Forcing consumers to purchase a memory card sucked even worse), that the others followed their lead.
Perceived value by a consumer is a great sales tool. It cost virtually nothing to pack in a catalog game or movie. When you purchase your system you should have everything necessary to plug and play. And in my opinion, this includes a game as well.
