I still wonder about the ergonomics of this, but I think a more compact design might make things better. Certainly has a better look to it.

So I guess people with UMD PSPs will keep them to play their back catalogue?
I wonder if you'll be able to buy games at a retail store instead of having to download everything via the interweb. Some countries still have pretty slow broadband so to download a big game off PSN at home would be a bit off putting. I guess that's why they'll still sell the PSP3K.
