I would suspect that if you were the enemy as mandated by the government you'd be just as likely shot by a christian soldier as an athiest soldier. Also if you look at people abstaining from going to war you'd probably see as many Christians as Athiests unwilling to kill. The idea that though shalt not kill is lost on most people if the government gives them a gun and a pack. So do you say these people aren't christians? Then almost nobody is or do you say that Christian morals probably don't effect the behaviour of soldiers?

Hmm... but a good soldier is supposed to kill. And Christians happen to have this 'obedience to authority'-dilemma too. So when speaking of war it's a more complicated topic than u painted here about Christianity not having effect on people's (soldier's) behaviour.

Theres a pretty simple commandment, though shalt not kill and just because your dad or your uncle or your friend, heck even your government tells you to kill someone doesn't over-rule it.

I agree. But some x-ians dont interpret the Bible that way. I dunno why, I cant remember their arguments for it at the moment.

The argument is that God allowed our leaders to be put into place, so we are to obey them. Obviously there is a fine line here, but it is not murder, and God does not want people to live under slavery, which can be the result of losing a war.
