I'm not sure what people expected M$ to do wrt to HD-DVD? M$ invested alot of money into the format, but the never "fully" commited to it, and took ownership of it, like Sony did with brd. So yes...I agree withte OP in the sense that M$ never did...but why should they have? Personally, I'd like to see M$ push deeper into SSD and Flash memory.
