| Garamond said: Star Ocean is probably a mediocre game at best, but Cross Edge is at least a few levels behind that. It's exceptionally bad with really no redeeming qualities - the gameplay is bad, the story is bad, the graphics are bad and it still manages to lag even with a full 4-5 GB+ install. Star Ocean 4 at least has an engaging battle system, decent enough graphics and a story that may not be great but not fall-asleep boring. I really can't think of any RPG for a current gen console that I thought was as good as Shaquille O'Neal. They have more or less been Patrick Ewings. |
I loved the story it started picking up a lot around the halfway point and never looekd back! :) As for this statement of yours I highlighted if the only somewhat weak part of Sta Ocean 4 is the story then why would you dare call it mediocre? I know some people think it took to long for the story to get interesting but I loved it and because I agree with you on your opinion about it's combat system and graphics to me this is my top jrpg thus far this gen. Once the story really kicked off it shot above Tales of Vesperia but they are nearly equal in the end I think the battle system is what makes it the better of the 2 in my eyes.
My top 5 jrpg's this gen in order:
1.) Star Ocean:The Last Hope
2.) Tales of Vesperia
3.) Lost Odyssey
4.) The Last Remnant
5.) Blue Dragon
Hope to add Magna Carta 2 in there somewhere later this year!
How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...
Xbox 360 wants to Kinect & PS3 wants to Move! Why are both systems having such relationship problems? The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.
