The only way I could figure was to 'copy' your profile (save data) to another save data spot and rename that to whatever you want to be known as ingame.   Then you can either delete the original or just use it for single player

 

So I know for when I get the game on release, what is the issue with naming?

 

Do you only get to pick a name once and forced to keep it?   If so I let my partner know to pick something neutral if she plays it first.

You can have 3 different names & save files...
