This article implies that the new kits have more memory than the old ones, but I don't think that's true. They always have had 1 GB, as I recall. If you don't have that extra memory, you can't run a debug version of your game, basically.

Anyone using a regular X360 as a devkit (which is possible) would be limited by the 512 MB of the retail unit, as this article implies. But any real dev has always had real devkits, and this restriction has never applied to them.

Is the article talking about XNA devs (small fry and community games devs) having easier/cheaper access to real devkits, as of late? Because otherwise its just a lot of hot air.
