You will get trolled on for this, doesn't matter if you said right in your op that your not trying to be a troll...its just how pathetic some users here can be.
But OT: i would say yes, it would be worth it to get a PS3 because their first party offerings are very good, and i don't think any company will actually drop support for the PS3.
But remember, make sure you research all your options before settling down on one thing...
