"I frequently get asked if there are any mini-games in Overlord Dark Legend. Usually by people with a masters degree in Missing The Point. The last thing Wii needs is mini-game collections. It's become a lazy cliché. And how many of them are even any good? Not many. Likewise, Wii doesn't need cel-shaded, big-head cartoon games, dumbed down to the point of just having to shake the Wii Remote to have it play itself.

I've been a Nintendo gamer all my life, and it's hardcore gaming experiences are the reason for that. I don't need Wii Fit to tell me I'm a porker, I already know. Nintendo's done a fantastic job in broadening the market and bringing new gamers to the table, and now we have to retain them by showing them the reasons videogames are awesome. With that in mind, we kept Dark Legend targeted at core gamers. We stuck to what made the series a success, and expanded that with the strengths of the Wii as a platform. So if you were expecting Overlord Sports, tough."- Dean Scott
