Are Sony's non gaming projects for PS3 really worth it for the extra sales?

I don't use Home but there are games on it and it does make Sony money. Folding at Home helps people. The browser is a good thing and helped me out when my pc was down. So I think they aren't wasting resouces especially when you realize how many first party games they put out.
