It's already a well established fact that steam rolls over any individual opinion, biased or not. Heat kills both consoles. It was even responsible for the GPU failures on the early Wii models that ran in 24 on mode (in which the fan is off). Both have the largest active cooling systems yet seen in a console. When said active cooling system gets clogged up with debris or does not have enough fresh air to circulate, it overheats and increasing heat always leads to exponentially shorter lifespans for electronic components. So lesson learned would be: - back up any data you don't want to lose - keep consoles well ventilated and clear of debris. if the fan sounds louder than normal, it's running too hot, likely clogged up. |
WiiConnect24 killed early consoles?
I have a launch Wii that has had WC24 enabled since day one. I guess I'm lucky in that regard. 0_o
