I don't think that FFXIV is anything like MH....I could be wrong since FFXIV hasn't shown any gameplay and MH isn't even in production for the PS3 as of yet to my knowledge. x.o

right, but we know 14's coming, they are both RPGs, the difference is one is MMO which the other is not, but they are online RPGs, and FF14 is confirmed already. yes, I know you can play MH offline all by yourself, though I don't see much point to the game that way tbh, the idea that MH would dominate Japan online RPG on a non portable platform is quiet unlikely is my point, not to mention FF14 will be on PC as well. MH3 is uh, it'll do reasonably well in Japan, outside of Japan though, it's more like testing the waters, I for one won't play it unless the service is reasonably cheap because I might as well go back to WoW otherwise. that's also why I said PS3 only owners better pray MH3 is going to do well outside Japan if they ever want to see a new PS3 MH for real.

MH3 is not necessarily an MMO. There's a difference. That's like saying that Halo 3 was doomed because Call of Duty exists.

you bring up another good point(which I already included in that post =P I called it Online, not MMO,) but keep in mind that you need to pay for playing online for MH3 just like any good MMO, will it offer as much as MMOs? what's the monthly price? extra thought steps need to take into consideration when they want you to pay that money, which is not something a shooter needs to worry about. if you have to pay to play for a long time, it either has to justify the price or it needs the content of MMOs. If the thing called "price tag" wasn't an issue, PS3 would be dominant already.
