I am loath to use the polls as a benchmark for determining whether or or not the elections were fraudulent. They were not particularly reliable. I think there are certain outcomes that indicate a flawed election. The performance of both Mousavi and Karroubi in their home provinces is an example of this. Also, the strangely uniform results that mrstick posted. As Kasz and I have said, the rigging was likely orchestrated by the IRGC. They had the most to lose from a Mousavi victory. That is why the margin of victory was so comically large; the IRGC wanted to ensure that Ahmadinejad won a clear majority to avoid a run-off election. In my opinion, whether or not this "revolution" has any lasting impacts depends on whether Mousavi, Khatami, and even Rafsanjani are willing to offer some guidance to the masses.
