Hmm.. let's see up to now:

a) 1 factory in France manufacturing VCR and other magnetic tapes -> I don't think there will ever be demand for that again

b) 1 factory in Vietnam manufacturing CRT TVs -> see a)

c) 1 factory in PA manufacturing LCD TVs and repairing LCD/Blu-ray stuff-> plant in Mexico has enough capacity

d) 1 (small) factory in Japan manufacturing CCD chips for handheld gadgets -> outsourced forever

e) 1 (small) factory in Japan manufacturing LCD TVs -> closed due to overcapacity, never going to return

so to sum up, none of those factories will ever see the light of day again.

So they are doing stuff they really should have years ago, and the recession is just the catalyst to getting them off their butts?
