PC...meh

we are moving forwards not backwards

PC leads the pack in the tech department, consoles don't even come close, if you ask me, console graphics is what's dragging tech down in general, but I don't really mind since I'm just a gamer, if the game play is good, then all is good.

This.  Oh so much this.  I haven't really looked into PC tech much since I built my last PC 2.5 years ago, but now I'm looking at parts for a new PC for my dad, and you can get 8 gigs of ram at 5-5-5-18 for only $99!  My gosh that's amazing!

PC hardware has come so incredibly far, so incredibly fast.  I could build a rig that DESTROYS the ps3/360 for the same price of a ps3.

Yes, that is true THREE YEARS LATER.

Also, PC games are typically optimized for either the highest end ( a moving target) or the lowest end. Either way the chances of an optimized version for "your" rig are slim.  Since, console's innards don't change in its life the lowest common denominator is the same and games are optimized for that hardware. This can result in some slick looking game not possible on a mid-to-low end gaming rig.

it's been true about 1 and half year in after PS3 actually(360 was always a slower computer,) and the real truth is Sony was selling PS3 at a big loss, it was a pretty good deal back then because they cut about 250 bucks off the real price, and that's just the base price, in the hands of retail, it'd usually be 10-15% more on top of that, but their strat failed them this gen. you can also easily upgrade your parts a few years down the road on PC making it costing even less if you are that type of person. even a low end PC of now is stronger than the consoles with a decent video card.
