I think it should have been either The Last Guardian or Metroid: Other M.

The Last Guardian because it is sure to have a story that touches the emotions more than any other game displayed at E3 this year and to be yet another Masterpiece from Ueda.

Metroid: Other M because it is a game that many people have been hoping for since the debut of the Gamecube in 2000, a true cinematic 3rd person action-adventure Metroid more in the mold of the classic Metroid but with current gen improvements to graphics and gameplay instead of being the more like the fps Prime games. Also, judging from the trailer Samus will both be in and out of her battlesuit throughout the game.

Neither of those games were eligible because neither of those games were playable.

Well, the op didn't sat that.

I guess my pick would be Assassin's Creed 2 or Brutal Legend then.  Assassin's Creed because I like the setting, it sounds like the story will be interesting, and I like the incorporation of Leonardo Da Vinci's devices (with all the conspiracy theories such things link to) being incorporated into the game.  Brutal Legend because it looks to be living up to expectations and to truely be becoming a heavy metal fantasy with so many legends lining up to lend their talents to it and the art especially on the girls is good.

My two honorable mentions would be Bayonetta, because Bayonetta is hot, and The Saboteur because I like its aesthetic qualities and the fact that it takes place in and around a red light district.
