I mean the motion controls and IR are part of the Wii from the beginning and most developpers can't seem to make something worthwhile with them after 2.5 years. That doesn't bode well for a new control method released halfway through a console's lifetime. |
What could be the big diffrence is that Microsoft is far and away the better supporting console maker. They go out of their way to help 3rd party teams get their games up and running efficiantly. So instead of keeping things to themselves as Nintendo has a history of doing they share any developments they make or tools they create.

If you're a developper who wants to make a game for the XBox 360 what is more appealing? Making a game with conventional controls that has the potential to sell to more than 30 millions users or make a game that centers on Natal's unique possibilities that you'll sell to a userbase that is non-existing right now.
