And again, that's probably due to the translation that occurs from Japanese to English.

It is common in the Japanese language to repeat words as a question, or atleast that was what I heard on NeoGAF.

I always saw that as a cheap device to focus the attention of the player on the entities that are relevant for the game, a bit like the bolded or coloured text spans in so many adventures and RPGs. But of course, I don't speak Japanese.
