I think I need to clarify, by upgrading I meant CPU, RAM and graphics card.
One reason I moved to consoles was price. It was a whole lot cheaper in the long run even considering the fact that console games don't come down in price like PC games.
The second was incompatibility issues, I have several games that would refuse to run on my PC even though it was quite high end at the time (3/4 years ago Dual core 2 GHz, 3 GB RAM, XP, 8600GT).
