Yes, yes it is.
Also, PC playing is super simple these days. This isn't the good old days of DOS here. Plus, tech seems to be getting cheaper - or at least you get more bang for your buck (longevity wise). Some games are just better on consoles, others are better on PC's. If you like genres that are better on PCs and you STILL don't game on the PC, well then I am sorry for you - and vice versa.
But it is still your choice.
EDIT: By longevity, I mean that I given graphics card (for example) will play games longer without becoming obsolete, and - hell - a sound card from 2001 will do fine.
