Not sure which I would prefer. If the new hardware did come out and was mildly better, but all old 360s could still play all new games along with the slightly better hardware, I'd be ok with it. If some new games could only be played on the new hardware, or played a noticeably large amount better on the new hardware, I wouldn't like it as much. In all honesty I'd probably buy the new hardware 
but I know it may not be received as well with everyone else.
