^ I agree, Home will make revenue for sony. I highly doubt, however, that the revenue generated will ever cover the cost of the 4 years it's been in development.

Are you serious?  Let's say those 6.5 million users only bought one 99 cent item a piece from Home's various shops (I know many that have bought an apartment full of items, and many more that have bought none at all, but it probably evens out).  That's already at least 6.5 million bucks.  Plus, they get advertising revenue.  Third parties pay for their own Home spaces, there's no doubt about it, and there's the advertisements for movies and stuff in the central plaza and the movie theater.  All of these things are a source of revenue for Sony.  Reportedly, they made a million the first two weeks after the beta went public, and I've heard that the revenue they're taking in has only gone up from there.

Unless you think the service cost some ungodly amount to develop and maintain, they'll probably turn a profit overall before the year is out.
