Oblivion was awful for exploration, it had the most sterile and empty openworld I've ever played in a game.

You must not play a lot of games.

By the contrary, I'm just accustomed to a higher standard of games.

If you're playing games that are a higher standard than Oblivion please give me some suggestions.

I just think you've played plenty of games with an even more "sterile and empty openworld." Shadow of the Colossus is a fine example.
