He also forgot to add that it was necessary to add Blu-Ray to inflate the number of Blu-Ray players sold cuz otherwise they wouldn't have beaten HD-DVD

I dont know if the PS3 is the main reason why HD-DVD is dead. I think it was the studios who fell back from supporting HD-DVD and joined the Blu Ray side that brought Toshiba to stop production of HD-DVD players, discs, etc, with anything involved with Toshiba's HD-DVD tech.

no HD-DVD is dead because Blu Ray players were selling faster than HD-DVD ones (thanks in large part to the PS3 sales) and alot better marketing and moneyhatting. and to top it off SONY paid $500 Million dollars to warner bros to inflict the fatal blow on HD-DVD.

nope:

a) only Toshiba made HD-DVD optical drives and none of the other's could make any money on the drives because Toshiba lowered the price of their unit's too fast, so none of the other manuf. could make any money on their's.

b) the payment to WARNER IS JUST THAT A MYTH. because Warner brother's sat on the Board of directors of the BDA..they saw the writing on the wall

11 optical drive manuf. vs'  only  just Toshiba by itself it was only going to be a matter of time before HD DVD lost by the very fact there were no other manuf. for HD DVD but Toshiba.

and even since 2002 you could already burn onto blank Blu-Ray disc's. HD DVD did not have even its prototype even done in 2002, while Blu-Ray was already on the consumer market to buy in asia in 2003 3 years well in advance of the first HD DVD player..no burner, just a player in 2006.
