the definition of apathy is : "the trait of lacking enthusiasm for or interest in things generally". Apathetic voters do not vote because they have no interest in politics. Us loyalty-free gamers can in no way be compared to apathetic voters, as we do not lack interest in video games. Lets use a UK politics analogy, following the vein of what you said. 3 major parties - Labour, Conservatives and Lib Dems. If they were the 3 biggies of the gaming realm, an apathetic voter would not vote due to no interest whatsoever. On the other hand, someone who's family voted Labour their whole life would probably vote for Labour, sometimes without even understanding what it is they're voting for. Then you'd have the L-F voters, who would see the good and bad points of all parties before making their decision. To wrap things up, there is a difference between being apathetic and having no set preference.

Fair enough. Though I'd say plenty of Apathetic voters are often ones who are just not interested in the current parties and just vote whatever is best their interest.
Feel free to add me to the list then though.
