I'm sure you'll do what's right for you, but I'd just like to throw in my thought process on this sort of dilemma: The longer you wait for the console's price to drop, the more likely the prices for existing games in its library will drop as well.
Personally, I'd wait it out. But, then again, I'm a cheap bastard.
