Hmm never played mgs2 that's a shame. Mgs2 gets a lot of hate it doesn't deserve from fans who had just too high of expectations. I'm telling you that it was a fantastic play through. If anything it plays a lot better then mgs1 since the controls are improved greatly, plus the presentation is top notch. Any of the metal gear games is worth a play through regardless if one isn't as good. Honestly I finished mgs2 first then mgs1 before moving on to the next. I play half of mgs1 but lost the game and then mgs2 game out so I just played that and found it so good I went backwards to make sure I played all in the series. I hope this helps.
