General - "Garbage" Pizza - View Post

Never called it that, and never heard that name before.

But when I worked at an Italian restaurant, I'd usually take a pizza home, and let the chef put whatever he wanted on it. He'd usually dump the rest of the special on there, so I've had meatloaf pizza, clam pizza, whatever. I've had pizzas with every meat in the house and pizzas with every cheese in the house. And after 2 years working there, on my last day, I had him put every single topping in the entire restaurant on that pizza (except anchovies). I think it had over 30 toppings. It weighed a ton, and it was heaven.

(I've also had corn/tuna pizza and shrimp/crab pizza in Japan. Amazing. Squid ink's good too, but I couldn't find it on a pizza, so I had it on spaghetti instead.)
