Sony will probably cut the price pretty soon anyway (if they intend to reach - or come close to - the 13 million target).

 

The summer is not a good month for price cutting: when Sony reduced their 60 Giger to $500 two years ago they still sold under 360 for the month and when the 360 reduced their 20 giger by $50 last year they still got pwned by the PS3. Late September / early October is probably when they will do it.
