Why are people still debating this topic...
From past history, including a new format with a new playstation is NOTHING new...
PS 1- CD
PS 2 - DVD
PSP - UMD
PS 3 - BlueRay
The decision to include Blue-Ray isn't really a choice for Sony in my opinion. Can you guys imagine now if PS 3 has only DVD drive...? To me, it's just not right...
Playstation is really about setting new standards, not improving the new standards (X360). A Beefed-up PS 2 doesn't bring much new excitement in my opinion.
You don't start seeing benefit of blueray until you get exclusive titles which are developed for the PS3 because you have X360's storage bottleneck. If I remember correctly, one of the supposedly upcoming ID shooter for PS3 and X360, the X360 had to have lower resolution texture.

And, you guys do know that Microsoft charges a ridiculous amount for disc royalties right? One-disc solution is not only cheaper for Sony, it's also cheaper for manufacturer, and the game develeoper.
NOt to mention what happens when you lose a disc of a multi-disc game... I just lost my 2nd disc for Xenosaga 3. X_X How i wish it was 1 disk.
