What do you have to lose by believing in God anyways? Does it make you feel that much better to believe in science and tell Christians they're wrong?

You’re basically talking about Pascal’s Wager, and you’re right. I potentially have everything to lose from not believing in God and have him turn out to exist, and nothing to lose if I believed and he didn't. So technically, yes I should become religious, but here's the problem...I can go to church, I can pray to God everyday and take part in all the correct rituals, but that still doesn't make me believe any of it. I went to a Catholic school while an atheist and I was no less and atheist when I left, despite doing all the correct procedure. And if God really is all knowing then surely he should know that despite doing all that I still don’t believe because all the evidence points to there not being a God. So he’d still probably ‘cast me into the fiery pits of hell’ anyway, so what’s the point? I might as well live my life free of the shackles of religion and stay firm in my belief that there is almost certainly no God.
