Why EverQuest is the most innovative game of all time

Sony lost so many money makers (PS2, Ever Quest, their other electronic merchandise, etc).

How was Sony doing in the 90's early 2000's? They must have been pretty succesful when they had so many successes on so many fronts, at the same time.
