You should really try Magic Workstation. It's completely free and you can customize a lot of things. It doesn't really know the rules either but you can play against other people. The bad thing about it is that the *really* competitive people use it so you'll find some jerks.

I know some people who are that bad and some people at work would be like that too. They didn't always buy boxes but they would go out and spend $50 on a playset of some really good card just to have. They would build their collection so they could build most competitive decks and it cost them a fortune. I was competitive there for a while last year and did really well at tournaments for a while, but I also played Merfolk which was about the cheapest deck to make.
Now we just mainly play limited (I love playing sealed) and just for fun multiplayer games at work on occassion.
