I don't know about 8%... but when I was living in Denmark I had some 10+ % beers.

It was called Årsøl (or something close to that), which means "beer of the year". Every year they make a new one which has 0.1% more alcohol than the previous year.

 

Dam the US! Highest % we have here is 5.5% and it's a shitty ass beer called Ice House that all the frat boys buy because their cases have 30 cans instead of 24, it has more alc% than anything you can get, and its the cheapest. So basically more beer, less money, fucks you up faster.

5.5% that's a pretty normal beer in Canada. When I was poor and wanted to get wasted quick I would buy a 1.14L bottle of 8% beer for 4 bucks, it tasted awful but it got the job done.
