Originally FF4 was

FF2 in the US & FF4 in Japan.

FF3 & FF5 never released in the US.

 

Ok so this is the US FF2 that originally appeared on the NES. So its before FF3 US, good to know, def want to check it out

FF2 (US) or FF4 (JAP) is for SNES.
And if anyone is still confused

FF I (JAP) is the same as FF I (US)
FF II, III (JAP) were never released in US
FF IV (JAP) was released in US as FF II
FF V (JAP) was never never released in US
FF VI (JAP) is FF III (US)

Everything after is the same.
