Actually, I think it could happen. Here's how. SE was really crafty, so they put a snippet of code on the disk that will cause the PS2 to read a gibberish line of code on the disc for eternity* once a certain date has passed. In effect, all copies of KH2 would be rendered useless - unless haxxord.
Then SE will release KH2 on every "next gen" console EXCEPT the Wii, just to spite Nintendo. Then they will release KH3 only on the Wii to spite everyone else.
Total internet meltdown ensues.
* Eternity or until the system is shut off - whichever comes first
