I love the first games, but Double Agent is a crap...
I think that you should buy all the xbox versions (they are 3 games, and later you can buy Double Agent for the 360, since you have a 360).
Splinter cell is like Metal Gear Solid because of the stealth things, but Splinter Cell is more technique and immersive than Metal Gear Solid, and Metal Gear Solid is much better because of the storyline and characters.
And prepare yourself, because this game requires intelligence, the game will makes you lost your patience sometimes
