What is the deal with Burnout Paradise and DLC?

Split Screen and Aftertouch (for those damn races) would have made the game classic...also..I wish the crash sequence (that can last a few seconds each time you crash)...we shouldn't have to watch it every single time...apart from those things..it was a good game.
