"The best" is always an opinion when it comes to art. But I will state this as fact:
You can never consider a recent game, from this genre, to be the best ever. At best it is a contender. Wait a generation, see what else comes out. Considering that fans of the PS3 are already drooling over Uncharted 2 I believe that proclaiming MGS4 to be the best ever is close to flamebaiting
