Over the past months I have heard many people talk up the strength of Sony’s 2009 line up compared to the 360’s.   Undoubtedly the PS3 does have a very strong line up, but on the heels of E3 I began looking at the games that were “actually” coming out in 2009.   I mean coming into E3 you heard everyone talking up Sony’s line up being far superior with the likes of Heavenly Rain, God of War 3, Uncharted 2, GT 5, M.A.G., and others.  The common theme was Sony would dominate this Holiday season.  However a funny thing happened as we closed out the E3 week.  Quickly I began to realize that Sony’s line-up wasn’t as robust as I, and many others had thought it to be for this Holiday season.

On the contrary, the 360’s line up looked all but non-existent at the start of 2009.  Now just days after E3 we know a lot more of what is real and coming.  Suddenly the 360’s line up isn’t as frail as we all once believed.   In fact one might argue that it is in fact now a stronger holiday line up given what we know is coming versus what we know is not.

Now I am not going to sit here and pass final judgment on who has the better line up.  Instead, I have gone through both release lists of both consoles looking for the games that will be exclusive to the consoles and presented them for you the reader to pass judgment on.   There is a possibility that one or two games have been missed but I did my best to include only games that will be “exclusive” to the console versus the other console, and games that will actually be appearing in 2009.  I also have included the major “Arcade” titles and/or significant DLC.

You be the Judge!
