Well if the criteria for being a true fan of star wars includes liking Jar Jar Binks then I guess I'm not a true fan.

But if being a true fan includes having seen the entire series and enjoying it very much then I am a fan. Just because I dislike one character, who isn't even a major character (compared to Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker) doesn't mean I'm not a true fan. I happen to really like Star Wars.

Also I hated C3PO because he's a whiny bitch.

*shakes head* a true fan accepts all the parts of George Lucas's vision (ALONG with the Edited cuts of the films, George is simply improving his visions. I was so glad when they changed it so that Han didn't shoot first), and should love everything about the films. I do prefer the prequels, because the technology (God I LOVE CGI in place of real sets) allows Lucas to present a more complete version of his vision.

Jar Jar has eclipsed my love for Ewoks as far as I'm concerned.

I guess I'm not a true fan either. Lucas had some great ideas, and some not so great ones. I'm not going to defend everything he's ever done that's Star Wars related; some of it is just flat out embarassing. (Holiday special, anyone?)

I do like the technology in the prequels, but I prefer the OT in many, many ways.
