But one reason for the success of BD format was Sony Pictures.. atleast by being exclusive to BD they provided some much needed exclusive content on BD and also give numerical parity when everyone else was taking sides..
i don't think the outcome of the HD war would have been like this if Sony was without any movie studio for the exclusive backing... And in this volatile market and this one division providing support and stability to the Sony. and i don't think Movie bzness is going to go down nytime soon.. it has already seen too many competitors...
Although 6 Billion will provide some much needed money to Sony but i don't think it is worth it. and if one see all the electronics one need is for entertainement. so this is not so irrelevant bzness for Sony and if they really create harmony among different Sony division than it can really provide some much needed boast to other divions.
