Because Zeus thought that Kratos was going to dethrone him, like he did with Chronos... man you missed a lot of things, lol.

But, yeah, I agree, I think that GoW, storywise, should have ended with 1. But the story in GoW II was still great and kept in line with the theme, and if they can provide more of an conclusion, than a tragedy like they did in GoW 1, then it'll be great.

Also, from what I read from Chains of Olympus, you understand more why Kratos is mad at the gods in general, and their politics (the same politics that got Kratos in the situation at Rhodes).
