I have no problem with violence in games. but I'm not a huge fan of hack 'n slash games myself. I may rent the game, but I dunno if I'll end up buying it.
And as for pairing Kratos up with other videogame characters to see which will "win", that is sort of irrational. Anyone can make up a character to be stronger than another. We don't play Zelda or GoW just because a character is strong; that makes no sense.
