Also, given that broadband is not universal, that some providers have ridiculously low download caps (as low as 5G per month -- which would be one game), and that there is limited hard drive capacity, this is a supplement and preparedness for the future we all know will eventually get here. The question though is when.

Paying $5-$10 for a DL title is one thing. Paying $50 is something else. I really wonder how many console owners today will do that.

All of the games shown in that video are in the platinum hits collection; meaning they retail <$30 new. The retail sale of those games has for the most part dried up and I can't imagine retailers making much profit from them. I don't suspect you'll see new releases on this service. Gamestop, with their sale of these games used, will probably take a bit of a hit from this service and that's fine with me.
