Why would they discontinue the PS3? Most likely they'll do what Nintendo did last gen - focus on making a profit and come up with something new next gen

That's a laugh, because the PSOne and PS2 weren't profitable (hardware-wise) to begin with, but were later in the years after the manufacturing costs came down. The original PS was $300 and the PS2 was $300; the PS3 is/was doubled that. I still consider it to be $600, only that they slashed the price because they removed parts and features to make the price cheaper, so you get a wasted product still. If everyone knew better, the 60GB was the best model to begin with. Why regress to a 40GB by taking out B/C? That right there is the reason why the system still isn't selling, because people want to play their old games on it too and don't want to play the PS2 anymore.
