Squilliam said: Holy $%&& Im going to say one more thing to make Sony fans want to kill me. SC: C is everything Kojima should have done with MGS4! Interactive cutscenes, not stop action, stealth, smart gameplay. This isn't a MGS4 copycat, they are taking MGS4 and schooling it. The student becomes the teacher. |
You see, the thing about MGS is that it doesn't try and be badass. That's why I love the series so much because it's so influential and it makes you feel as if you are part of the game. Then there's developers who try and make their games more 'badass'. Games like Halo or Splinter Cell are always upgrading their status but then why do series like MGS or Zelda never have to? Because they are already there. Hideo Kojima knew exactly what he wanted out of the MGS series and he doesn't need to change the series at all. Every single MGS game has gotten rave reviews and positive feedback from the community, more-so than most other game series. I could say that SC:C seems too much like Bourne, and MGS looks to much like...GOTY but then that would just be my opinion. I believe that MGS 'is' in a league of it's own and SC:C seems in a league with alot of other movies/games. So when you say this isn't a MGS copycat then you are right, it's more of a Bourne copycat but who cares.
Overall though this game looks wicked, definitely a day one buy for me. It just looks so cool and filled with fresh ideas on how to tell the stroyline. I played the first one and the one that came out for the 360 and loved both of them, can't wait for this one.

Thats a pretty cool opinion you got there. Definately hit most of the marks between the games I must say, though I found the cutscenes to be the killer of a brilliant game for me with MGS4.
