I've played the 2 PS2 games I can say that I haven't felt this "disgusted" (sickened is the right word, maybe?) by anything in those 2 games.
To see his head actually rip, skin stretching and then tearing apart, close up, is brutal.
I think this is the first time I've thought of GoW being too brutal, it was probably the close up view AND the length (at least 3 seconds) of waiting for it to tear that made it so awful. Also, it's probably the fact that the headless looks so human, if it was a monster I wouldn't mind seeing it being ripped apart from the sides (which we've seen numerous times in GoW 1 and 2), which makes me squirm.
Still, this game is looking epic.
